BOOK: Living Water 2009: bible reflections for today's catholic publisher by Springs Foundation Inc. ; Didi Marañon.
A friend of mine who was hired to run a household and take care of two little children was prevailed upon to take care of an old, sick man during an emergency. As my friend entered the house she was in an awe thinking the old man would be in a wheelchair, an IV with him with a lot of medication and couldn't even walk, move or remember things anymore. And the children being bratty kids just running around the house making a mess. Basically she expected a family with the type who doesn't care for their kids so they would just be given whatever that they want and the old man just being waited to expire. She witnessed the exact opposite and little did she know this would change her life. She entered the kids not around, the house very clean and quite and as she kept going in she heard someone in a room, the 2 kids one girl who is 8 and a little boy who was 4 just with the old man in the room reading and hanging around. she went in and introduced herself and what she was there for and the three welcomed her well. As time passed she didnt even notice the old man was sick because he really looked healthy, his sickness was something the old man brushes off and continue with life. Let God take him naturally. As time passed my friend got close to the family as if it were hers. As she got close to them she found out their story and why she was hired, The parents of the two children passed away through an accident and the only relative they knew was the grandfather. The grandfather was actually the one that hired her just in case his time came. My friend fell in love with those kids and as time passed of fun and love, the old man was getting sicker as the days passed. When the old man's time came my friend didn't know what to do. She wondered to herself why the old man chose her , maybe God chose her specifically. In the end she adopted those two children and till now they are one happy family.
